What is an orthopaedic shoe finishing?

The orthopaedic shoe finishing is another way to compensate foot pain or get your body back in balance.

With the help of orthopaedic elements we built into your regular shoes, it can help to walk in a regular way again.  And on top we try that it is not visible from the outside. But let´s start from the beginning…

For example you have trouble with your hips. You have an appointment with a doctor and you get the diagnose “leg shortening”. That means that the pain in your hip is because one leg is shorter than the other one. This can be between 0,5 cm up to more than 3cm. But don´t worry, we have the perfect solution for you: shoe increasing.

That means with a prescription from you doctor you come in with your shoes from home from a regular shoe store. We will raise the shoe on which side your leg is shorter. In that way the shoe increasing will help you to get back in balance and the pain will slowly disappear. For the future it is important to increase all your shoes, otherwise the pain will come back. This is the most frequently orthopaedic shoe finishing. You can see that in the picture with the brown and green shoes with laces.

Another way to increase the foot pain especially in the front part of your foot is a butterfly roll. We soften the front part of your shoes and it simplify the walking. The brown boots are an example of that kind of an orthopaedic shoe finishing.

There a lot of different kind of rolling aids like a bale roll, metatarsal roll and the rigidus roll. They are set on a fixed spot on your shoes. It helps to reduce pressure on your joints, particularly for arthrosis complaints.

Another shoe finishing are outer/ inner edge increases. This helps to reduce the pain in the knee by opening the cartilage gap. A few millimeter are enough to ease the pain.

All in all you can say that orthopaedic shoe finishing is a great treatment to relieve the walking with complaints.
