His examination question was, among other things, the production of an orthopaedic custom-made shoe with a compensation of a leg length difference of 3.5cm on the left.
Before the journeyman's exam, he designed the shoe by himself and selected carefully the materials. For example, the bootleg leather of the half-boots comes from the manufacturer "Maasleder" from the Netherlands. The leather colours cognac and mocha harmonize very well with each other due to the cut with a fitted toe cap and the four concealed eyelets. Due to the modern design and the interplay of colours, the shoe elevation of the left shoe by 3.5cm is hardly noticeable. The open lacing brings a touch of lightness.
The shoe construction was also very time-consuming because he used an elegant leather frame with a leather outsole. Compared to conventional materials the fine sanding is very time-consuming because significantly more work steps must be carried out here to achieve a smooth and shiny result.
In our opinion he did a great job!
We are also very pleased that Mr. Kashiwagi is now continuing his work as an orthopaedic shoemaker in our company after his training and actively supports us with his work.
